About Recess

More ways to play.

Recess helps you find what’s good outside in Ottawa, right now — one map and list covering the Rideau Canal Skateway, the city’s neighbourhood rinks, and its sledding hills, so you don’t have to check several different places to figure out where’s actually good.

This is early. It's Recess's first winter, and today it covers Ottawa's outdoor rinks, the Rideau Canal Skateway, indoor skating times, sledding hills, and the City's posted drop-in swims and court sports. More activities and other cities are coming soon.

The direction from here is to grow: more activities and eventually other cities, built the same honest way these were — real data, clearly labelled as what it actually is, never dressed up as more certain than it really is.

Curious where this goes next? The bell icon at the top of any page opens a short signup for exactly that — getting notified when a new activity or city actually happens, nothing more.
