A boarded rink with permanent lights and a fieldhouse to lace up in means you can show up after dark for pickup hockey and still have somewhere warm and a washroom. Volunteers flood and keep the ice, so conditions follow the weather and whoever's been out lately, and there's no supervisor on site.
