A boarded rink alongside an open puddle surface means hockey and free skating can happen side by side, and the permanent lights keep both going well after dark. The fieldhouse is the real luxury here — a warm place to lace up, plus washrooms. Volunteers look after the ice, so conditions follow the weather and whoever's been out with the hose; there's no supervision on site, and the grounds aren't wheelchair accessible.
