Refrigerated ice means the surface holds up through mild spells, and with no boards it's a pleasure-skating loop rather than a place for a pickup game. City crews keep it up, there's a supervisor on site, and the portables give you a washroom and somewhere to lace up — though the setup isn't wheelchair accessible. Lights go up for the season, so evening skates are on.
